Trip To Dream Castle
Yay, it's friday and it's payday, what could be better? Anyways, here some pictures I took during our road trip to Socal.

Carmel by the sea

Entrance to Casa Del Sol

Casa Del Sol - consists of 8 rooms

Casa Grande - consists of 38 rooms in this main house

View of Neptune Pool

Garden Walkway

Botanical Garden

Indoor Roman Pool

23 carat gold leaf and glass tiles slated for the indoor Roman Pool (this is what rich people do when they have too much money).

Alrighty, I shall not bore you anymore. Knitting continues, infact I'm on another bandwagon.

Yesterday, while I was searching for pattern to use up the leftover seasilk. I came across this and this. They look familiar huh?

Ummmmm.... The necklace looks way to familiar. Though sounds like a wonderful use for the seasilk leftover.
Thanks for sharing the photos of your trip. Looks like a lovely road trip.
Yes that is what rich people did when they had way too much money and there were craftsman that still had the skills to pull it off. Too bad the world has essentially lost those skills and supplies to do that kind of work.
Love the pics of your trip! It looks so beautiful.
Isn't Hearst Castle unbelievable? Your pictures came out great :)
These pictures look so familiar - I was there December 1998. Will definitely visit again if I take a road trip that way. And what a good way to use up those beautiful scraps.
I think this similar necklace was in a Vogue Knitting Holiday issue, either 2005 or 2004, i don't remember exactly, what a smart decision! Seasilk is really worth using up to the last drop!
I love those pictures, but they make me feel poor. A crocheted necklace seems like a perfect way to use up a bit of extra seasilk.
i wish i could crochet. that is a pretty necklace. and the color is loverly
I spent one of the most magical nights of my life at Hearst Castle! Thanks for the memories!
Gorgeous pictures. Wow. Looks like it was a wonderfully good time!
I am always inspired by your knitting projects. You pick such pretty colors and your crochet work is beautiful.
Wow, what stunning images from your trip!
Great color for your marigold, very beautiful. It's a pretty nice pattern to knit. Can't wait to see the finished top!
Goodness, Casa del Sol is beautiful! Looks like a great trip.
So...you can purchase a cotton version for $120, or purchase the EXACT SAME cotton version with an Anthropologie tag on it for $198, or crochet it yourself in a glamorous yarn. Kudos to you!
(You know, it's that $78 Anthropologie label that kills me. That'd be more than two skeins of Sea Silk! How many necklaces would that be? Hurray for handcrafts!)
the part of CA is beautiful. I was lucky enough to travel to San Fran last year and we drove down the coast to Carmel, stopping along the way. gorgeous!
You were close to me, I love that place, although all that beauty seems lonely... Some how bloglines decided to drop you from my list, I freaken love cherry and your shawl, so amazing!
