let's have some cake

Yay! I'm turning 32 today. If you don't already know I'm pretty low-key when it comes to birthday. I'm not big on party and stuff. May be because I'm getting old. I like it quiet and simple. Some cake and a simple dinner is all I want. Hence, DH is pretty busy with work this week, so we'll postpone our little birthday dinner till saturday. Which might be even better since it's st patrick day and I'll get to drink some green beer. Anyways, thanks to those who left me pre- birthday wishes. That's very sweet of you. I would like to dedicate this poet to my dear friend Heather who celebrated her birthday last week -- Happy Belated Birthday Heather! And also to everyone who celebrate their special day in March.

Birthday Blessings
Instead of counting candles,
Or tallying the years,
Contemplate your blessings,
As your birthday nears.

Consider special people
Who love you, and who care,
And others who’ve enriched your life
Just by being there.

Think about the memories
Passing years can never mar,
Experiences great and small
That have made you who you are.

Another year is a happy gift,
So cut your cake, and say,
"Instead of counting birthdays,
I count blessings every day!"
